In short: Mailbox Manager keeps your data on your own computer. If you connect Google Drive, it puts copies of its backups in your Google Drive and nowhere else. It can only see the files it creates there. Nothing is sent to Lake Forest Pack and Ship, the app's developer, or anyone else.
This policy covers Mailbox Manager, a desktop app made for use at Lake Forest Pack and Ship ("we"). It explains what information the app handles, where that information goes, and what the app does with your Google account if you connect Google Drive.
Information the app stores
Mailbox Manager stores the records you enter, such as mailbox holders' names, business names, phone numbers, email addresses, forwarding addresses, rental dates, and payments, along with the app's settings. These are kept in a database file on the computer the app runs on, together with the app's daily backups of that file.
The app has no servers or online accounts of its own. It doesn't collect analytics or usage statistics, show ads, or send your records to us or anyone else.
Google account and Google Drive
Connecting Google Drive is optional. If you click Connect Google Drive in Settings and sign in, the app asks Google for one permission:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file: see, edit, create, and delete only the Google Drive files that Mailbox Manager creates.
With that permission, the app:
- creates a folder called Mailbox Manager Backups in your Google Drive;
- uploads a copy of each daily backup of your Mailbox Manager data to that folder;
- lists the files in that folder, and deletes old daily backups it uploaded so that only as many as you choose in Settings are kept;
- reads the email address of the Google account you signed in with, only to show you in Settings which account your backups go to.
The app can't see, open, change, or delete any other files in your Google Drive, and it doesn't use any other Google services. The backups it uploads contain the same records described above, and are stored in your own Google Drive under your control.
How Google data is stored and shared
When you connect, Google gives the app a sign-in token so it can keep uploading backups without asking you to sign in every day. The app saves this token, the connected account's email address, and the time of the last upload in a file called google-drive.properties in the app's data folder on your computer. It isn't included in backups and is never sent anywhere except to Google, when the app uploads a backup.
Information received from Google stays between your computer and your Google account. We don't receive it, sell it, share it with anyone, or use it for advertising, and no person reads it. It isn't used to develop, improve, or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Mailbox Manager's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Disconnecting and deleting your data
- To stop backing up to Google Drive, click Disconnect in the app's Settings. The app deletes its saved sign-in and asks Google to cancel it.
- You can also remove the app's access at any time from your Google Account, at myaccount.google.com/connections.
- Backups already in Google Drive are kept when you disconnect. You can delete them, or the whole Mailbox Manager Backups folder, in Google Drive.
- Data on the computer is deleted by deleting the app's data folder, which the Open button in Settings shows.
Security
The app talks to Google only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Data on the computer, including the saved Google sign-in, is protected by the computer's own user account, so keep the computer password-protected.
Children
Mailbox Manager is a business tool and isn't meant for children.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling information differently, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
